Blue Cornflower Seed – Heirloom Annual Wild Flower Easy Sow and Grow

Blue Cornflower is a popular garden annual that is native to Europe and naturilized in North America, pair with Rudbeckia, Cosmos and Coreopsis for a flower-filled array of blooms early Spring to Summer with long season blooms.

Sow Blue Cornflower Seed direct in full sun after fear of frost has past.

Blue Cornflower Seed prefers poor dry soils in full-sun and will re-seed freely where conditons are correct. 

Flowers from early Spring to early Summer and can re-sow during a single season.

Approx 50+ Blue Cornflower Seeds per pack can be sown direct where they are to flower, grown in large containers or part of a wild flower meadow seed mix.

Annuals make a great fast and free flowering addition to any meadow or garden space, however they can be short-lived and I recomend collecting a handful of seeds every year incase of losses.

Plant with a minimum of 75% native plants to increase the benefits to visiting pollinators as native plants maintain balance and provide habitat and eco-systems for resident and migratory wildlife. Due to many years of ecological destruction, development and toxic pollution many native wild flowers, and wildlife are under-threat of extinction.

We all have an important role to play, no matter how small your garden or balcony a few plant pots filled with natives instead of alien ornamentals of genetic hybrids that offer very little to no benefit to feeding insects and birds.
