Goldenrod grows from 3-4ft tall as the plant mature height and number of flowering stems increase as the hardy native perennial forms a network of roots.
Smooth lance-shaped leaves and a hairy rigid flower stem develops amass of yellow branched starlike flowers Aug thru September.
Thriving on poor soils and competing with grasses Solidago is happy on the prairie or at home in the cottage garden.
Some varieties prefer moist soil and can be grown successfully in a rain garden, however this species prefers it dry.
Popular with an array of pollinators, particularly bees.
This Goldenrod species is tolerant of drought conditions and flowers best in full sun

Easy to grow sow seeds direct where you would like them to flower, in Fall or Early Spring but the seeds may get damaged on germination and could take upto 2 years to flower from seed.
