May Day frills, spills and fairground colours of attraction.

This week in May we are thrilled with frills, seduced by succulents, whilst memories of our childhood come flooding back with a carousel collection of fairground colours thanks to rolling banks of Rhododendron’s. The gardeners we’re inundated with weeds and blown away by bluebells.

We have seen the organic kitchen garden in wall to wall sunshine yet a strong cooling wind blew.

There’s no sign of rain on the horizon as May looks set to reach record-breaking temperatures and ground workers ask is this finally the hot summer were due?

This week in the garden we are inundated with weeds and blown away by bluebells, as our newly cleared woodland banks come alive with a sapphire shimmer against a rare cloudless sky.

Radiant Rhododendrons on mass and in bloom, a carnival of colours from pink through to blue, Azaleas assemble an optimistic orange glow, as mere memories of Spring bulbs are lost in the hue.

Planting Pak Choi ‘Ruby’ a second sowing of succesional chinese salad leaves to follow as I am sure these are going to be in demand. Such a rich red burgundy hue to these tasty chinese leaves.
