Chester City Walls in Springtime

Chester’s City walls attract 100’s of thousands of visitors to tread the riven texture stone paving slabs that line the historic sandstone walls encircling Chester’s medieval city.

Treading the well worn steps of tourists and Roman soldiers alike, the circuit of sandstone that protects the City is a beautiful collection of gates, arches, towers and steps and remains the best example of Roman and Medieval city defenses that exists in Britain.
