A single snowdrop bulb breaking all records, when Elisabeth Harrison sold for £725 a few years back, it looks as if Golden Fleece is stealing her thunder, after selling on eBay for £1,390.00!

How high will a single snowdrop bulb sell for? Galanthus plicatus ‘Golden Fleece’  sold on eBay.

How much will the next unusual marked, golden or even pure white snowdrop sell for? Would you pay over a grand for a single snowdrop bulb?

Fascinated by Snowdrops, having managed several large collection of snowdrops, I have been fortunate enough to have worked alongside some unusual and rare varieties of the Galanthus. Braving the Winter storms in a search for the bringer of light, the Snowdrop is a welcome addition to the lives of thousands for Galanthophiles (snowdrop collectors) who travel the World in search of the timely elusive Snowdrop.

Unassuming and humble the snowdrop hails from far a field, often referred to as a British native it is more likely to have originated across Europe and naturalized thanks to the help over the centuries believed to have been aided by some gardening Monks, Plant hunters and even War-Torn soldiers returning to loved ones with a handful of snowdrop bulbs, that remain a symbol of hope and peace to today!
