Does your Facebook page need a Social Media Manager?

If you have a growing business, then chances are at some stage you are going to turn to hand to social media! Perhaps a friend has suggested you set up a page or a business colleague has advised you that a Facebook page is essential for your business development.

Most businesses rush blindly into social media, an employee knows how to set up a page and whilst initially it looks good and you are gaining a few followers. Then it begins to look stale, posts are irregular, graphics are out of date or non existent  and you begin to wonder what went wrong?

Managing social media is not easy and big businesses are spending thousands every month to secure their share of the social promotion.

If your considering social media platforms for your business, before you rush in to set up networks and secure your social domains, first consider if social media is right for you.

There are a number of things to bear in mind;

1: Do you have the spare time to mange social media for your business?

Posting daily to Facebook can be time consuming alone, imaging sharing unique posts several networks everyday! That takes some commitment. There are a number of social sharing desktop applications that can help. Try Hootsuite for example, once set up this app can take your daily posts and auto schedule them to all your networks throughout the day.

2: Are you social savvy? Can you find your way around Facebook do you understand Twitter?

Having a clear understanding of social media is essential if you are planning to manage your pages for yourself. If you are struggling to get to grips with Twitter or Pinterest, then stick to Facebook and build a FB following with engaging page posts.

3: Can you produce good graphics?

If a picture speaks a thousand words, then well thought out social network graphics can move mountains and generate some much need promotion for your business.

4: Do you know where to find trending topics and royalty free images?

5: Can you write a catchy post that will engage followers and encourage new fans to sign up?
