Free Art in August Workshop Dates Announced!

Following our hugely successful Open Weekend we are pleased to announce the dates for our Free Art in August month long event. A selection of taster sessions of demonstrations and workshops all for free!

Local artists and crafters are coming together to offer free classes and demos throughout August and beyond.

Here’s a preview of the classes you can expect and we suggest you book your free place as soon as possible as spaces are limited and with talented local crafters offering demonstrations and workshops your sure to want to get involved.

Painting Demo and Workshop, Watercolours, Acrylics and Mixed media 

Thursday 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd  2-4pm

Learn to Paint with Pammy 

As the Chapel curator and artist in residence Pammy invites you to her Painting Demonstration and Workshop, Choose from Watercolours, Acrylics and Mixed media.

Our fun and lively painting classes and workshop hosted by Pammy are extremely popular. Pammy’s unique relaxed approach will have your painting in no time. Suitable for beginners or as a refresher for experienced artists.

Parent and Child painting classes

Sat 3rd and 10th 2-4pm

Here is a great opportunity for you and your child to learn together as Art tutor Pammy takes you both through step by step instructions in creating your first masterpiece together.

Suitable for adults and children, beginners or as a refresher for experienced painters. A relaxed informal setting for you and your child held on saturday afternoons.

Saturday 3rd and the 10th of August, children must be accompanied by a parent and refreshments will be provided.

Dragon WOODS LTD – Painting of wooden shapes

Friday 9th of August: 7pm till 9pm

Free Demonstration and a chance to get involved during our workshop and even buy some mdf animal, fruit of lettering shapes to paint and take home.

Bess and Rose – Upcycling of Jewelry and beads

Thursday 22nd 7-9pm

Perhaps you would like to upcycle some of your old jewelry and beads? Bess and Rose create vintage masterpieces and would love to show you how during a demo and workshop. You will need to provide some basic tools and materials contact Pammy for details.

Rejoyce about Stampin – Papercrafts workshop

Friday 23rd August 7-9pm

Join in a free “make and take” for everyone, demonstrate some techniques and have a variety of Stampin’ Up! products for people to look at and even play with.

Encaustic Art – Hot Wax painting

Saturday 17th 2-4pm

This extremely popular and fascinating painting technique uses a hot iron and some clever coloured wax that enables the artist to create a style all their own.

Pottery (Air Dried Clay)

To be confirmed

This demo is using Air-Dry Clay is a natural earth clay which air-dries to a hard solid. We use it to make clay sculptures, decorative items or plaques. No baking or firing needed. 
Easy clean-up. Minimal shrinkage.

Pammy’s Palette Knife – taster session

Wednesday 28th 7-9pm

Painting with a palette knife is a technique that takes a while to perfect and not for the lighthearted, it does however have an amazing effect and finishes the canvas with a rough texture similar to a traditional oil painting.

Heart Felt constructs felted vessels, and garments, my pictures are wool and unique, inspired mainly by the photographs of the natural world around me. The Various mixtures of fibres – wool blends, and silks create interesting effects, which react in unpredictable ways, therefore i find myself working very intuitively and straight from the heart. Thats why I call my work HEARTFELT— Book with Pammy Jones.
