A Colourful Gardening Affair with Iris.

If like me your are passionate about plants then as the seasons change and Winter becomes Spring and us Gardener’s get to experience a colorful love affair with the beautiful bearded Iris.

Depending on your location in the World your either going to be experencing Iris flowering anything from March to May. In the U.K May is the perfect time to appreciate the beauty of the bearded Iris, my photographs were taken during a trip to London and back home in the Cheshire garden I manage.

The beared Iris are a colorful addition to a garden, often planted on mass to maximise the effects, with colours varying from tranquil cloud bilowing whites too luminious blues, pinks and mauve.

Sizziling oranges and yellows a festival for the Summer or Royal purple’s and regal reds, just a few of the colours featured in the English garden borders of Regent’s Park, central London.

Iris flower during May-time and along with other many other perennials encouraged to flower by the early Summer sunshine. Iris are long flowering and along with silvery fleshy spear like leaves and thick rhizomes.

Beaded Iris growing with Alliums, Aquilegia and Sweet Rocket are a perfect addition to and May flower garden. Iris in carefully selected colours are the perfect modern day version of a cottage garden perennial.
